booking your safari should feel reassuring, not confusing. here's exactly how payments and bookings work with us — the deposits, the timelines, and the protections in place — all explained simply and honestly, the way we'd want it explained to us.
Booking with Con Bush Safaris is a straightforward process. After we have designed your itinerary and you are ready to confirm, a 30% deposit secures all your camps, vehicles, internal flights and park permits. The remaining 70% balance is due 60 days before your arrival date.
this page explains the payment process in detail — what we accept, when, what's included, what isn't, and how the practicalities of paying us from anywhere in the world actually work.
a 30% deposit on booking, then the 70% balance 60 days before arrival. by bank transfer (no fee) or credit card (3% fee). once your deposit is paid, your camps and logistics are confirmed and held in your name.
the deposit confirms your booking and triggers the actual reservation of your camps, vehicles, flights and permits. until it clears, nothing is held in your name. we send a final booking summary with the deposit invoice, and we'd suggest paying within 7 working days to secure your preferred camps.
The balance is due no later than 60 days before your arrival date. We send a reminder 75 days before, and the formal invoice 60 days before. Payment is accepted via the same methods as the deposit.
for bookings made less than 60 days before arrival, the full amount is due straight away. this is standard practice, and it makes sure every supplier is paid in time for your travel.
reasonable date changes (shifting by a few days or weeks) are usually accommodated with no penalty if you're more than 60 days from arrival. bigger changes may need re-quoting. see our cancellation policy for the formal rules.
a direct international wire transfer to our tanzanian or international holding bank. this is our preferred method, for a few reasons:
we accept visa, mastercard and american express through our secure payment processor. a 3% processing fee applies because the card networks charge us — it isn't our markup.
all our pricing is in us dollars (usd). bank transfers are easiest in usd; we can accept eur, gbp and cad at the current exchange rate plus a 0.5% conversion margin. to avoid double conversion, pay in usd if you can.
tanzania safari pricing is "all-inclusive" by industry convention. our quoted per-person prices include:
what you're responsible for separately:
once your booking is confirmed (deposit paid), the quoted price is locked in. the only exceptions are:
if tanzania national parks (TANAPA) raises park entry fees after your booking, we may pass the increase on. this is rare, and usually announced months ahead.
if you pay in eur, gbp or another non-usd currency, the conversion rate is fixed at the date of each invoice. large currency swings between deposit and final payment may slightly change the local-currency amount.
if you request changes after booking (upgrade camps, add days, swap activities), we revise the pricing accordingly — and always send a clear revised quote before anything changes.
the supplier costs we've negotiated are guaranteed for your booking. any lodge or camp rate rises between booking and travel don't affect your invoice.
group bookings (5+ travellers) and private departures follow the same process, with a few adjustments:
these terms apply to standard bookings. for group bookings, complex multi-country itineraries, or special arrangements, your designer will talk through any variations at the time of booking.
